The Loomis US Business Continuity Plan and the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
Due to recent events involving the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), we are reaching out to update you on our procedures designed to address contagious diseases in the event of an epidemic or a pandemic.
At Loomis, we are aware of the threat the virus represents and are closely monitoring the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and local health authorities across the US for updates on the disease. If circumstances indicate the presence of COVID-19 in the areas where we service our customers, we will trigger procedures as part of our Business Continuity Plan to support the continued performance of essential functions.
Our Business Continuity Plan is in Place.
To provide a rapid recovery from events that disrupt our service operations, Loomis implemented the Business Continuity Plan to address service interruptions due to natural and human-made disasters, as well as infectious disease epidemics and pandemics. While human-made and natural disasters can damage a business’s buildings, equipment, and products and services, serious infectious diseases can impact employees and limit their ability to return to their jobs.
The resulting reduction in personnel can interrupt fulfillment of customer orders, delay supplies or materials required to perform services, and disrupt the availability of public utilities, fuel, medicine, and food.
The Loomis Business Continuity Plan is designed to address the impact of these issues on our ability to provide service to our customers. If health officials announce an outbreak in the area of our branch that disrupts our supply chains, our branches will follow protocols that detail the necessary actions to be taken that will address the needs of our customers and our personnel.
Our Business Continuity Plan strategies in place at the branch and corporate level and include methods for maintaining our supply chain, identifying staffing arrangements, developing communications plans, and formulating contingency plans.
If COVID-19 affects our employees and facilities to such a degree that normal operations will not be possible, Loomis will relocate members of our Operations Reserve Team to the impacted sites and provide experienced and dedicated personnel who will allow us to meet our customers’ service needs. These personnel are qualified and trained to effectively supplement staff at our impacted branches, and they are always ready to be activated, similar to the military’s reserve troops.

Our Employees are Prepared.
At this early stage of COVID-19, Loomis is reminding its employees to take precautions to ensure that their habits and behaviors do not help to spread the virus. Since there is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19, the best way to prevent illness is to avoid exposure to this virus. We will continue to educate our employees of the CDC recommendations for everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of all respiratory diseases, such as washing one’s hands frequently, keeping work surfaces and objects such as phones clean and disinfected with commercial grade antiseptic sprays, and staying home if they show symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
Our Branches are Monitored.
At Loomis, we are monitoring our branches to identify any actual or suspected cases of the COVID-19 virus among our employees. If there is a change of this status, we will have the appropriate Loomis contact reach out to you. We believe that it is important that we keep you updated on any potential health risks to you and your employees or customers, and we trust that you will update your local Loomis Branch with information on any COVID-19 occurrences in your operations.
At this early stage, preparation is critical to minimize the impact of COVID-19. We are optimistic that by working together with you and all of our customers, we can minimize the impact of this potentially dangerous disease on our personnel, our customers, and the general public.
